spinball whizzer

Have you ever wondered what it might be like to be a human pinball? Imagine a roller coaster ride where you are not only hurtling full pelt along steep, twisting tracks, but the car you are travelling in is also spinning like a top, doing 360's like a demented whirligig!

Welcome to one of Alton Towers' newest coasters Spinball Whizzer, a unique ride experience, where the riders are the kings of spin! To put riders in the pinball mindset, the ride is themed like a giant pinball machine. Riders rattle like a ball as they are catapulted down the 450m track at speeds of up to 60km per hour. Over the 1 minute 30 second duration of the ride, each car can spin up to 90 times!

Launched in 2002 is AIR, the multi million pound spectacular ! A new generation of Roller Coaster for all you Thrill seekers. Prepare to be amazed as Alton Towers unleashes this awesome peril on you all. Throughout the centuries mans' passion to fly has manifested itself in many forms, from the ludicrous to the extreme. 20th century technology allowed humanity to experience flight as a means of transportation, but not flight in its purest and most exhilarating form. The feeling and freedom of soaring through the air, birdlike, face down, remained in the domain of a limited few, aided by parasail or suchlike. Now all that has change with Air!

submission

Opened in 2001 surrender yourself to SUBMISSION, which subjects its victims to 90 seconds of torturous relentless spinning and inversion counter rotating 15 metres above the ground ! This double inverted ride pounds the pulse and plunges the senses into freefall ! The ride consists of two carriages, balanced on steel arms and seating 24 people each revolve vertically in opposite directions. At their highest point, they hover briefly, suddenly inverting 360 degrees, only to plunge 15 metres back to the starting point and up again. So, hang on in there !!!

oblivion

One of the most popular rides at Alton Towers and also one of the most recent additions to the theme park. Oblivion is the only ride in the world that will drop you vertically 200 feet, at more than 110KPH! Which is the equivalent of 16 floors of the Canary Wharf tower and at more G Force than a NASA Astronaut experiences at take off! all in the space of less than 120 seconds. If your worried about not getting a front seat, then don't worry because all 112 passengers that can ride at any one time all have a front row seat, so you won't miss out!

nemesis

Alton Towers £10 million nerve shatterer. In just 90 seconds you are whisked through a brain-buzzing 50mph barrel roll and a Zero G turn where you experience four seconds of space style weightlessness. Then there is a vertical loop at FOUR TIMES the force of gravity. And just when it seems you are doomed to crash to earth, you are whipped upwards again. It all happens without anything solid under your feet. Your legs dangle free from ski lift style chairs. Some TV Gladiators were actually sick after sampling the world's ultimate white knuckle ride. So be warned it's a mega one!

the corkscrew

Famous for its double loop, the loop, along a hair raising half mile track, this monster exerts a pull three times that of gravity. it's a corker!

ribena berry bish

Launched in 2003 at Alton Towers is The Ribena Berry Bish, a specially designed fun house, with thousands of specially machined foam balls which are propelled, raised, thrown, dropped, shot and moved all around the Foam Factory in a "cycle of fun." They burst from blasters, arch from catapults, roll up conveyors and work with many other intriguing mechanical hand operated devices. Kids will have plenty of opportunities to perfect their target skills in this crazy, chaotic factory of fun enjoying shooting balls at each other in this interactive play house. It is located in the old barn on Old MacDonald's Farmyard.

old mac donald's farm

Old Mac Donald's Farm has been one of the biggest highlights for young children visiting Alton Towers. With real life bunnies, lambs and pot bellied pigs plus animaltastic rides there's loads for kids to explore. And they can join in too in Old MacDonald's Singing Barn With larger than life, fully animated farmyard animals kids can create their very own rendition of "Old MacDonald had a Farm". all they have to do is press the special buttons to activate the animals and conduct the sing along!
