space mountain

Space Mountain was inspired by Jules Verne's classic book "From The Earth To The Moon" in which he describes how brave explorers are sat inside a rocket that is blasted from a cannon, into space on their quest to reach the moon.

with an explosive boom and plumes of smoke you are launched out of the cannon into the mountain presumably outer space. During the next 2 minutes you experience a high speed roller coaster ride in semi darkness which includes 3 inversions, a loop, barrel roll and tongue loop. Those who keep their eyes open will also see the numerous special effects throughout the attraction including the sensation of blasting through the centre of a meteorite, as the rocket train weaves it's way through star fields, passes by space miners, flies through turbulence and finally toward the smiling moon

star tours

As soon as you enter the "Star Tours" building you are right in the middle of the action of an alien space port. The queue for the ride is filled with little details, which makes the waiting area especially interesting. You are almost sorry, if there aren't that many people in front of you. Everywhere you look there is something going on.

Having taken your seat on the ship and put on your seat belt, you are finally introduced to your pilot of todays flight: Rex. Well, Rex isn't as well trained or programmed as you would have maybe wished, but what can you do? You are on your way.... Although, hey, this isn't the way! Rex is heading towards disaster! and not only once! No! He makes a "special tour" of the space dock, pilots you right through an asteroid field and an ice comet and finally gets you in to real trouble a fight between the good rebels against the most devestating weapon of the evil Galactic Empire the Death Star!

big thunder mountain

Climb into one of those old mine trains and experience the thrills of the wildest ride in the West. At the very heart of Frontierland the mighty Big Thunder Mountain rises high over the Rivers of the Far West. Inspired by the carved rock features of Southwest America's Monument Valley, the mountain with its runaway mine train stands at the centre of "Thunder Mesa."

The attention to detail throughout the realistic mountain is exceptional and includes colourful rock pools over hung with stalactites, a water fall and audioanimatronic figures including donkeys, goats and coyotes.

indiana jones et le temple du péril

Hop on board and Follow the foot steps of Indiana Jones and go on a high speed ride through the ruins of the Temple du Péril. find out what happened to the first expedition after discovering the famed archaeologist's abandoned camp. You're then propelled backwards towards the ancient ruins of the Temple of Peril.

As you board one of the mine cars for a whirlwind spin around the ruins of the mysterious temple. You begin by climbing backwards to the highest point of the tracks where you are offered a spectacular view of the whole park and outlying area. The pace then speeds up taking you around hair pin turns and drops surrounding the temple, before the climax of the attraction a complete 360 degree gravity defying loop followed by a high speed return to the loading point.

alice's curious labyrinth

One of the many Disney attractions designed exclusively for Disneyland Paris. Once inside signs will direct you "This Way" or "That Way" there are tiny doorways, Leapfrog Fountains and sound effects through out. As you start to wander deeper you will find the caterpillar smoking his pipe and the playing cards frantically painting the roses red.

as you wind your way around the twisting and turning hedge flanked paths on the way to the Queen of Hearts castle at the centre. You will encounter several of the characters from the famous story! Including the palace Playing Card Guards popping out from behind hedges to the shout of "Who goes there" or even the Queen herself appearing to cry's of "Off with your head!"

autopia

At Autopia children get a chance to experience how those dreamers of the past may have imagined it could be, here children take control of small petrol powered cars which they drive around a circuit of roads, tunnels and bridges that pass around an area at the edge of Discoveryland. For many children, it's a dream come true to take control of the steering wheel press the accelerator and drive, here they get the chance. A metal rail which runs along the middle of the lanes stops the cars from veering of course. But the steering wheel does allow for control for at least a foot or two either side.

During the trip along the motorways of the future, decorative advertising boards offer a historic view of the world of yesterday's tomorrow. Autopia is great fun for children although it's not unusual to see big kids (AKA dad) revving up the engine along the tracks.
