european courts & institutions 6 day student tour

Over the years the events2order popular annual tour of the key European Union and European Community Institutions has provided students studying law and European Business Studies with an invaluable chance to see at first hand the working mechanisms of these institutions.

the tour offers students an opportunity to visit the institutions of the European Community and the European Union in Strasbourg and Brussels on a tour lasting six days. Depending on the time schedule and availability within the various institutions each year, the tour aims to incorporate a visit to the following institutions in Strasbourg, The Council of Europe, The European Court of Human Rights and The European Parliament. In the Hague students will visit The International Court of Justice and The International Criminal Court.

summary itinerary

Our six day European Institutions Tour usually takes place during February of each year and due to it's popularity places are limited! During the visit to each institution Presentations will be given by the members of the institutions, followed by a discussion session. Students are actively encouraged to ask LOTS of questions. As not only does it facilitate for lively and interesting sessions, but the speakers are always very pleased! and of course there will be free time to visit some of the attractions both cities have to offer.

Day 1: After a warm and friendly introduction from your experienced and knowledgeable driver, your modern luxury executive coach will depart from your chosen departure point late on the evening of day one, for the journey to Strasbourg. The channel crossing will be by either ferry or Le Shuttle and you should arrive at your centrally located 3 star hotel in Strasbourg early on the morning of day 2.

Day 2:After an early morning check in to their hotel rooms students will be able to relax un till the early afternoon when they will be escorted by a professional guide to the Council of Europe, where they will be taken on a tour of the institution. After the tour students will attend a seminar by officials of the institution. Students will then have the rest of the evening to spend at their leisure.

Day 3:After an early breakfast students will be escorted by a professional guide to The European Court of Human Rights where again after a tour of the institution they will attend a seminar by institution officials before taking a break for lunch.

After the lunch break students will visit the European Parliament before being left to take in some of the tourist attractions that Strasbourg has to offer visitors. and maybe even have a night out at one of the many trendy nightclubs in the city, as tomorrow we will be moving on to The Hague.

day 4:Today we will be moving on to The Hague after a late breakfast and we should arrive at your hotel in the mid afternoon. After check in students may spend the rest of the day at leisure exploring The Hague or anything else that interests them. For Ideas of what to see and do in The Hague, we would suggest that students refer to the information pack we supplied them with.

After an early breakfast students will be escorted by a professional guide to The International Court of Justice and similarly to Strasbourg after a tour of the institution students will be able to attend a seminar held by institution officials. Students will then take a lunch break before moving on to a tour of the International Criminal Courts and a seminar. After which students will once again have free time to spend as they wish in The Hague.

Day 6:After a late breakfast students will depart the hotel around midday to commence the return journey to the UK. On route stops will be made at the Belgian Chocolate factory, an excellent place to buy inexpensive gifts for relatives and friends. A stop will also be made at a Cash & Carry/Hypermarket where tobacco, beers, wines and spirits will be on sale at unbeatable prices along with a selection of other familiar branded products at prices much cheaper than typical UK high street prices. We will arrive back at your original departure point in the late evening of day six.
